As a Clinical Documentation Specialist you will be joining a team that works collaboratively to service our patient populations and caregivers. The members of this team know what it means to "care like family". In this role:

  • You will conduct a comprehensive, concurrent review of clinical documentation within the medical record to achieve accurate and detailed documentation.
  • You will provide documentation for clinically indicated conditions or procedures.
  • You will support appropriate assignment of severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, and intensity of service and resource consumption.
  • You will help to accurately portray the facility's quality outcomes rating, reduce compliance risks, and capture appropriate reimbursement.

Licensure/Certification *(_one_ of the following is required):*

  1. Current State of Utah RN license
  2. CDIP/CCDS/CCS certifications
  3. MBBS

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or Medicine required.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Inpatient Coding/HIM, specifically Critical Care and Medical/Surgical experience.

    *or*

  • 5-7 years of nursing experience in Case Management, Quality Review and/or other related clinical experience in an acute care facility; Critical Care, Surgical, or ER experience preferred.
