Intermountain Healthcare Patient Flow RN - Registered Nurse in Murray, Utah
The Patient Flow Nurse is responsible for patient placement and coordination between patient care areas and other departments for the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care for a specific shift.
Directs patient placement in accordance with quality standards, regulatory guidelines and monitors.
Responsible for receiving and coordinating patient bed placement requests for one or more facilities.
Assesses complex patient needs and assigns appropriate bed placement.
Assures Patient Status Order (PSO) is complete, verified and uploaded into medical record.
Utilizes all technical resources necessary to proactively place patients.
Communicates and coordinates effectively with House Supervisor, various staff, departments, and physicians to maximize patient flow, appropriately handle difficult situations, and provides feedback on staff interactions and the overall process.
Acts as a resource and coordinates the duties of the Patient Placement Specialist.
Implement capacity alert when facility approaches capacity.
Responsible for insurance verification and patient pre-registration for direct admits.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
RN license in state of practice.
2 years clinical experience.

Leadership, supervisory, or admissions experience.
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess patient needs.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.
