Intermountain Healthcare Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator I- Park City Concierge in Park City, Utah

Job Description:

Supervises clinical staff under the direction of a clinic manager to provide clinical expertise and leadership to the delivery of nursing care.

This position will be responsible for the daily operation of the concierge clinic. They will act as a liaison between the patients that are enrolled in this program and the physician. They will take incoming calls and help coordinate the care between the patient and physician. They will be responsible for some front end office responsibilities such as enrolling patients in the program, monitoring physicians schedules, taking inbound calls for prospective patients as well as enrolled patients. This is a high touch, high service experience for the patient and the panel size is limited. Needs to be very responsive and patient service oriented.

Scope

RN Coordinator I reports to the facility manager or designee and plays a key role in staff supervision and clinical / operational workflow. As a member of line management they will typically supervise clinical staff up to 15 FTEs. She/He is included in strategic decisions specific to staffing models and oversight of staff performance.

Job Essentials

Projects staffing needs for current and following shift and/or department to provide optimal patient care.

Ensures that staffing levels/skill levels match census/acuities for the unit; coordinates cost-effective use of staff by ensuring appropriate staff-to-provider ratio.

Under the direction of the Facility Manager, completes and conducts annual performance reviews of staff; enforces policies, guidelines and procedures.

Responsible for initial counseling of staff on performance issues; assists with employee hiring and orientation.

Oversees competency of clinical staff through annual skills updates, ongoing educational inservices and completion of mandatory educational requirements.

Forecasts and communicates accurate information on admission, discharge and transfer to ensure appropriate patient placement.

Communicates with appropriate caregivers on difficult / challenging patients to facilitate appropriate care needs; assists staff members with direct patient care as needed.

Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives (i.e. CQI, TQM, Lean, 100% participation, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

Nursing degree from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.

Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Two years of clinical nursing experience.

Clinical expertise in assigned clinical areas.

Working knowledge of clinical processes in the ambulatory setting.

Demonstrated communication skills in recommending quality, customer service, and safety improvement measures.

Experience mentoring clinical staff.

Bachelor's degree in nursing required or willing to obtain by June 2022. ** Note: Anyone hired or promoted into R.14 grade on or after July 1, 2017 must obtain their BSN degree on or before June 1, 2022. After that date in June 2022, all future promotions to grade R14 will require a BSN.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Two years of Supervising clinical Staff.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • and -

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  • and -

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • and -

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
