In coordination with Family Medicine Residency Program faculty and staff leadership, the Academic Program Coordinator plans and implements activities of the Family Medicine Residency Program, ensuring goals and objectives are in accordance with established criteria. Interprets program policies and advises program participants on the application of regulations.
This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.
•Oversees day‐to‐day operations of the Family Medicine Residency Program
•Provides administrative support for Family Medicine Residency Program director, associate program director, Associate Director, Education, Program Manager and Residents
•Coordinates program events such as orientation, professional development retreats and workshops.
•Creates and manages the Grand Rounds/Journal Club didactic conference schedule.
•Helps create and manages the monthly Clinical Quality Meetings.
•Runs reports monthly and collects outpatients numbers for each resident.
•Collects reports and calculates quarterly inpatient numbers for each resident.
•Uses MedHub to collect procedure numbers and report certifications to clinics.
•Manages applications through the Electronic Residency Application
•Service ( ERAS ) program
•Assists program director and assigned Faculty in screening and inviting candidates for interview
•Updates recruiting brochures, websites and other materials provided to applicants
•Reviews the required policy and document packet with interviewee including interview packet checklist and J1 visa forms
•Schedules candidate interviews with faculty and residents.
•Assists the program director in submitting the rank order list to the National Resident Matching Program ( NRMP )
1.Administers formal processes for faculty resignations, retirements, request for sabbatical leaves, and emeritus status.
2.Assists Director of HR with staff job posts, ePAFs, candidate coordination, onboarding and off-boarding for Central Administration employees

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
