The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking Administrative Director who will oversee the academic department and professional services and lead IMAGER Integrated Management and Governance of Enterprise-wide Radiology. University of Utah is an academic department that is internationally recognized as dynamic and progressive, with high impact on the present and future of the field of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. The Department complements the professional and research activities of one of the nations leading Medical Schools. The Department, University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, and Senior Vice Presidents Office of Health Sciences also collaborate together under the integrated finance and management called IMAGER to advance clinical operations and academic missions for the entire institution. The Department serves patients at the University of Utah Hospital, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the VA Medical Center, and many affiliated facilities throughout the region. With a world-class faculty of sub-specialist physicians and imaging scientists, the Department is a leader in outstanding clinical services, radiological education, and imaging science research. The Department is currently comprised of more than 80 faculty members and scientists, 27 residents-in-training, and 15 clinical fellows, and doctoral and post-doctoral research fellows. The Department is growing rapidly. The Department offers a highly-ranked radiology residency program, continuing medical education for practicing physicians, expanding medical student education, and allied health professional training. Excellence of the Department education program is recognized internationally and attracts visiting scholars from all over the world. The Department and IMAGER manage a large number of imaging resources including multiple MRIs, CTs, PET-CT scanners, x-ray machines, ultrasound scanners, and commercial radiopharmacy that are used for both clinical practice and research. The Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research in the Department provides extensive research resources and expertise to inter-disciplinary groups of investigators with the current NIH funding exceeding $6M and supporting 7% of the entire NIH funding of the University of Utah. The Department is ranked within top NIH-funded institutions in the North America. Reporting to the Chair of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, the Chief Administrative Officer - Director, IMAGER will be responsible for the overall clinical and academic operations and financial management of the department. This position is responsible for achieving departmental goals through critical thinking and innovative solutions. This position is responsible for achieving a level of shared operational management between physicians, hospitals and clinics, and health care services through effective coordination of resources. This person will initially report to the Department chair.
