Job Summary

The incumbent acts as a liaison for students and administrators in the Health Professions (Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy and Physician’s Assistant) and the College of Law at the University. The incumbent will advise and inform current personnel within those schools and programs regarding student financial aid files and will coordinate awards from those schools and programs with awards made through the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid ( UOSFA ). Responsible for understanding and administering both Title IV and Title VII programs providing liaison for the UOSFA and Dean’s Offices.

Responsibilities

•Accurately and effectively counsels students in the professional disciplines regarding application, eligibility, and program requirements regarding financial aid and scholarships. Remains current on the costs of programs and financial issues facing students in the respective programs.

•Ensures availability for the School of Medicine and College of Law students for counseling, which may require campus travel. Responds timely and accurately to inquiries via phone, email and in person. Conducts workshops both on and off campus, and virtually as appropriate.

•Consistently performs tasks in a professional, respectful and inclusive manner.

•Completes reports timely and accurately, and participates in audits needed for respective disciplines.

•In coordination with management, maintains and updates relevant policies, procedures, and associated documentation. Assists in the interpretation and application of policy regarding Title IV and Title VII aid as it applies to the University. Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

•Assists counselors, advisors, loan staff and others processing documents, reports, awarding TIV and other aid, phones, emails and all other communications for UOSFA . As needed and required, participates on office committees, including hiring committees.

•Works with the respective Deans, UOSFA Marketing, UOSFA management, on information for websites, publications, orientations and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
