The Huntsman Cancer Institute Clinical Trials Office ( CTO ) is hiring a Project Administrator to oversee the implementation, quality control and compliance of clinical research conduct of oncology clinical trials conducted at Huntsman Cancer Institute satellite sites, which include but are not limited to: South Jordan Health Center, Sugarhouse Health Center, and Farmington Health Center. The incumbent will serve as a supportive link between satellite site clinic and pharmacy staff, satellite site and hospital administration and CTO leadership while managing the technical and administrative details of day to day operational logistics, data collection and maintenance specific to the conduct of clinical trials at satellite sites. The incumbent will also serve in a clinical research coordination role where necessary.
This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.
1.Oversees coordination for workflow to ensure appropriate and adequate staffing for research procedures and visits being conducted at all satellite locations.
2.Assists with tracking and maintenance of data specific to satellite operations including but not limited to; clinical trials active by site, accrual, patient visits, and specimen collections and will prepare regular reports for CTO leadership.
3.Reports on satellite site operations during feasibility administrative review ( FAR ) committee meetings, inpatient/outpatient nurse management meetings and conducts satellite site operations meetings.
4.Oversees compliance to protocols; manages quality control, completion and submission of study related documentation.
5.Monitors satellite site enrollment goals and initiates strategies to promote enrollment and participant compliance at satellite sites.
6.Coordinates and performs responsibilities related to research participants including determining subject population availability, developing informed consents and screening materials, screening and recruiting subjects, scheduling visits, obtaining informed consent, answering subject inquiries, overseeing study visits and acting as a liaison between participants and study-related parties.
7.Recognizes, tracks and reports adverse events and protocol deviations.
8.Prepares for and assists satellite site staff in coordination of site visits made by sponsors or federal agencies during the course of and at the close of the study.
9.Has working knowledge to prepare, submit and maintain IRB , FDA , NCI , NIH , NSF and/or other regulatory documents and research correspondence.
10.Contributes to developing educational materials and assist with educating the study team, satellite personnel, the community and other research professionals regarding studies regarding research at satellite sites.
11.Coordinates with referring physicians to provide information regarding available research projects and to maintain a strong referral basis.
12.Understands clinical trial sample processing requirements per study instructions.
13.Must be able to work independently and have strong communication and human relations skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalency; four years of progressively more responsible related experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communications skills required. A related Master’s degree preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences or related field with two years professional research experience in human subject research. Preferred Oncology Clinical Trials Experience. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA , HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently is preferred.
IRB CITI Course or IATA DGR training within a specified timeframe.
