As a reflection of current needs and planned growth we are excited to offer the opportunity to join our team as Vice President, Patient Finance. Reporting to the SVP of Patient Finance, the Vice President of Patient Finance and at ADMI (“VP”) will join ADMI’s financial leadership team. S/he will provide direct oversight and guidance for Patient Finance operations as functional expert and leader in the department. S/he will partner with executive leadership to design and execute annual strategy, operationalize objectives, and develop and lead daily operations specific to Patient Finance and assist with support from cross functional departments (Operations, FP&A, Marketing and IT). S/he will identify, develop, and engage a talented team of leaders committed to driving results.
The VP will be responsible for the following activities:
Provides support to the SVP of Patient Finance and key leadership on a broad range of operational, strategic, and tactical issues impacting the company’s revenue with Patient Finance
Fosters an environment of high performance and accountability at all levels of the organization, leveraging technology and innovation to streamline operations
Develops and implements a comprehensive strategic plan to address short-term and long-term objectives with clear accountability metrics for Patient Finance improvement
Attracts and retains key talent while achieving a high level of morale; continues to build a high-performing and highly accountable management team that works collaboratively to achieve business objectives
Develops and documents business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Establishes credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs key aspects of the organization's Patient Finance functions to ensure the department manages all key lender relationships, increase patient engagement and NPS relative to patient financing, new product enhancements, platform enhancements, supporting the field organization and driving material revenue for the company
Ensures that Patient Finance supports all of its primary customers and builds strong relationships with the management team, faculty, clinicians, and staff to assess needs, make recommendations, and deliver highly effective technology-enabled solutions
Enhances the Patient Finance department by implementing standards, discipline, and rigor and instilling a metrics-based culture across all revenue cycle functions
Ensures optimal use of technology and automated processes to support all Patient Finance functions
Serves as a bridge between finance operations and field/practice operations to establish operating protocols that positively impact patient-facing policies and overall patient satisfaction
Helps guide the team in developing and deploying forecasting, reporting, and analytics infrastructure to drive efficient access to insights that enable strong decision making
Partners to enhance reporting capabilities to focus company leadership on relevant metrics and to provide efficient means by which to isolate key performance drivers
Fosters strong partnerships with senior leaders throughout the organization to drive forward key top- and bottom-line growth initiatives
Coordinates and directs the preparation and management of departmental budgets
Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Reviews activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
Year one Critical success factors
The following activities are critical initiatives and success factors in year one:
Learn the business: Engage with leaders across all aspects of the business to gain an intimate understanding of the market, business model, company history, and what makes Aspen Dental unique in the marketplace
Focus on technology: Ensure successful implementation of initiatives already under way (e.g., launch new finance platform and product enhancement), maximize use of current technology, and explore future technology options, such as AI
Focus on people and process: Improve patient experience with the Patient Finance. Improve efficiency and optimize process
Build relationships: Develop and build relationships throughout ADMI that inspire trust and confidence coupled with decisive action
A Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred.
Minimum 10 years of Consumer Lending or Patient Finance experience, preferably in a provider-based health-care delivery system
Strong financial management skills, including data analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting
Operational, marketing and financial leadership
Thorough knowledge of finance principles and procedures
Strong conceptual as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Demonstrated success in building and leading successful and engaged teams
Experience in financial services ideally in banking, consumer financing, and/or marketing industry.
Financial analysis abilities with a profit & loss comprehension.
Proficient with basic computer applications, i.e; MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
